When Topic Records' superb Voice of the People 20-CD set (TSCD651 [Vol 1] to TSCD670 [Vol 20]) appeared at the end of 1998, one of the comments frequently heard (and mentioned in reviews) was with regard to the general lack of notes to the songs.  Mike Yates has decided to address this matter by providing some himself, which are now published in MT, together with Roud Numbers and additional information from your Editor.

The first part of this massive project is the two indexes below, which show all the performers and all the tracks independently.  Although it has been possible to find this information for several years by searching our Topic Discography, I think the present presentation is both much easier to use and more informative.

Both Performers and Songs & Tunes are indexed alphabetically.  The numbers following the names and titles refer to the volume, followed by the track number in brackets - so, for example, Stephen Baldwin can be heard on: Volume 9, tracks 10 & 20; Vol 15, track 19; and Vol 16, track 11, while the song The Aghalee Heroes is on Vol 8, track 8.
